Four quick rules
- Measure over underwear or something close-fitting, never over a jacket.
- Snug but never tight. You should be able to slide two fingers under the tape.
- Stand as you normally stand, and keep the tape level all the way round.
- For the shoulders, the easiest way is to measure a jacket you already like the fit of, laid face down, seam to seam.
